TROUBLESHOOTING

Not Enough Memory Is Available

Your system may not have enough available memory to display our images. Symptoms that your system does not have enough RAM for the Screen Saver to run include:

        Wallpaper does not appear.

Screen saver is only gray; has no image.

Thumbnails in the Select Image dialog box do not appear.

Special effects on the screen saver do not work.

Ways to increase the amount of available RAM:

Close applications that you are not using.

Increase the size of your TEMP directory by at least 2 Meg.

If you use a RAMDrive as your TEMP directory, use the following settings:  DEVICE=C:\DOS\RAMDRIVE.SYS 2048 /E

Conflicts with Communication Programs

If your communication package (such as fax software) has problems running when the screen saver is running, turn the screen saver off. The communication package and the screen saver require system resources and your system may not have enough for both to run simultaneously.

Screen Saver Does Not Activate When Running a DOS Program Full Screen

Like most Windows screen savers, the Screen Saver does not activate when a DOS program is running full screen. For your screen saver to work run the DOS application in a window.

I am running Windows NT.I installed the software and worked fine, but now when I try to use the software, I get the message Unable to open image file, reinstall software.

The problem seems to come up in Windows NT when the user does not have write access to the WinNT directory. We have an upgrade that will bypass this security issue. You can download the upgrade from our website. If you want to install the upgrade, go to:

http://update.willowroad.com/.Be sure to exit the screen saver before running the installer.

Is Willow Road Software Y2K Compliant?

We do not use any date codes in any of our software, so yes, we are Y2K compliant.

I have installed My Utmost For His Highest. When the screen saver starts, it plays to the second picture, and then I get a Runtime Error.

We have seen this issue come up when the wallpaper is being used and the Display Properties have been set to view the desktop as a web page. You have 2 options:

Go to your display properties, choose the web tab, and then uncheck the View my Active Desktop as a Web Page.

We have an upgrade to the software available on our website to correct this.If you would like to download the upgrade, go to: http://update.willowroad.com/.Be sure to exit the screen saver before running the installer.

Every time the screen saver comes on, it starts at the same picture. Is there a way to make it start on random pictures instead of the same one each time?I am not using the wallpaper function.

We did find this issue coming up when the wallpaper was not being used.  We have made an upgrade to the software correct this issue. To download the upgrade, go to: http://update.willowroad.com/.Be sure to exit the screen saver before running the installer

When I try to start the software, I get a message that the D & T Module player was not initialized at startup.

D & T module player is part of the software our screen saver is based on. This message most likely means that you have After Dark installed on your system. Because of this, our patches don't get installed when your system starts up.You will either need to use After Dark to play our modules (use the module installation) or remove After Dark from your system, then install the full version of our software.

When I try to run the software I get an error 2807 message and my system locks up.What do I do?

We have an upgrade available on our website to correct this issue. To download the upgrade, go to: http://update.willowroad.com/.Download the upgrade to your system.Exit your screen saver. Then run the installer.

When I try to run the software nothing happens.I am running MacOs 9.0.

Ive chosen to not have my wallpaper stretch to fit my screen, but when I uncheck that feature, the picture is still stretched.

Make sure that in your Display Properties, on the Background tab, that Display is set to Centered, not Stretched. If this still does not correct the problem, make sure that you have the most current version of the software..To download the upgrade, go to: http://update.willowroad.com/.Download the upgrade to your system.Exit your screen saver. Then run the installer

I am getting many partial pictures instead of one complete image when I use my wallpaper function. What is wrong?

Make sure that in your Display Properties, on the Background tab, that Display is set to Centered, not Tile.

I have loaded the screen saver, but all I get is one picture with an advertisement on it.What is wrong?

You are set on a collection that has only that one image; you need to change collections. You do this by going to you Main Control Panel.Click on the Pick Image button.Click on the box at the top of the next page, marked Collections.Choose another collection. You will then see a different set of pictures listed below.

I have loaded my screen saver but it will not access my electronic book, everything else works fine. How can I fix this?

Make sure that the program Internet Explorer is installed on your system. You do not have to have Internet access, but you do need the program to view the electronic book.Windows needs Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher.Macintosh requires Internet Explorer version 4.5 or higher. For both systems, a copy of Internet Explorer has been included in case you do not have it currently installed.

When I try to run the software I get an error type 1 message. What do I do?

We have an upgrade available on our website to correct this issue. To download the upgrade, go to: http://update.willowroad.com/.Download the upgrade to your system.Exit your screen saver. Then run the installer.

I have loaded my screen saver, but whenever I try to use it, I get an illegal operation message (or an Isset_se error).Whats wrong?

You may be having a conflict with another software program that is running on your system, especially if you are running a virus protection program. You have to options:

Uninstall the software. At the desktop, open your Task Manager by clicking on Ctrl Alt Del.(This will give you a list of all the programs running in the background on your machine).End task on all but Explorer and Systray.(These programs will re-start when your system reboots). Then load the software again. With some virus protection programs, even this is not enough. If you still have a problem, try the following.

Create a directory on your system.Copy all files from the cd-rom into that directory.Reboot your computer to safemode.Once in safemode, go to the directory you created and double click on setup.exe.The software will then install.Once installation is complete, reboot the system again.

I had my password protection set, but I have forgotten my password. Is there any way to turn it off?

There are two ways to approach this problem.

If you are able to get to the Main Control Panel when your system starts up, you can click on the Settings button, then click on the Advanced tab.Uncheck the password protection. This will allow you to remove the password protection, but you will be unable to choose a new password without knowing the old one.

If you are unable to get to the Main Control Panel when your system starts up, you will need to uninstall the screen saver.

I have tried installing my screen saver several times but it keeps telling me it cant find the application. What can I do?

If you had a corrupt installation the first time, there may be files that have not been removed that are causing you problems.

Uninstall the software using the Uninstall feature. Then go to your Start, Find, Files/Folders.Do a search on your c: drive for the file willowrd.ini.If you find the file, remove all copies. Also check for sswillow.scr.Remove all copies found also.

Reboot your system. You can then install the software again and it should load fine.
